BIO - Dr. John W. Cory, MD
Dr. Cory is a Fellowship trained foot and ankle specialist who is Board certified. After completing his medical degree at Wake Forest University Bowman Gray Medical School went on to complete residency in orthopedics at the University of South Carolina. Following residency, Dr. Cory completed the prestigious Foot and Ankle Fellowship at American Sports Medical Institute in Birmingham Alabama in 2004, further subspecializing in Sports Injuries of the foot and Ankle.
Dr Cory was recently invited to be co director of the foot and ankle fellowship with Dr James Andrews in Birmingham, however, Dr. Cory returned to Scottsdale in order to partner with Dr Michael Castro in the Arizona Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center to provide the most comprehensive care for foot and ankle problems in the entire Phoenix metro area.
Dr. Cory treats foot and ankle problems in all age groups from infants to geriatrics, and his practice includes congenital defects, trauma, degenerative and arthritic conditions and particularly sports injuries of the Foot and Ankle. He has been involved in treating athletes at every level including NFL,UFL, professional hockey, professional soccer, Olympic level gymnastics and professional runners and triathletes. Dr Cory has more than 10 publications in peer review journals and has been nominated for the AO/ASIF Foot and Ankle Expert Group.
